Baltic birch: is 5×5 or 4×8 cheaper for your job?
Baltic birch comes 5×5 ft, regular plywood 4×8, and the cheaper sheet per square foot isn’t always the cheaper job — four 28" trays fit one 5×5 but need two 4×8s. Enter your parts and what each sheet costs you — Board Beaver works out which sheets to buy and lays out the cuts.

Baltic Birch Cut List FAQ
How does it decide which sheet to buy?
Give every sheet size a price and Board Beaver chooses sheets by what each one costs for the area it can actually use, then shows the total. The prices here are only an example — enter what your supplier charges.
Can I compare more than two sheet sizes?
Yes. Add a row for every size you can buy — 5×5, 4×8, 4×4 half sheets — each with its price, and it uses whichever combination comes out cheapest.
Does Baltic birch have a grain direction?
Yes, the face veneer does. Untick Rotatable for any part where the grain must run one way; the rest can turn for a tighter fit.
