MDF Cut Optimizer FAQ
Does MDF have a grain direction?
No — MDF has no grain, so you can leave Rotatable on for every part, which usually gives a tighter layout and less waste.
What sheet size is standard for MDF?
4×8 ft (48×96 in) is the common size in the US; 49×97 in and 5×8 ft are also sold. Metric sheets are 2440×1220 mm. Enter the size you buy.
How much kerf for MDF?
About ⅛" (3 mm) for a standard blade. MDF is dense, so use a clean crosscut blade and set your real kerf.
