Sheet Metal Nesting FAQ
What kerf should I use for sheet metal?
It depends on the process: a fibre laser removes ~0.1–0.3 mm, a plasma torch ~1–2 mm, a shear effectively 0. Set the value for your machine.
Does this do true (irregular) nesting?
This optimizes rectangular parts, which covers most brackets, plates and blanks. Irregular-shape (DXF) nesting is on the roadmap.
What standard sheet sizes are there?
2500×1250 mm and 3000×1500 mm are common for steel; add the exact sizes your supplier stocks.
